Missing WAN PPPoE VLAN ID when using browser-based setup

I was attempting to set up an Amplifi router at a remote site -- I had remote desktop access to the site, so was using the web-based setup for Amplifi.
However there was no way to set the WAN VLAN ID on the PPPoE configuration form.
In the end I had to get a client to load the Amplifi app on their mobile phone, and lead them through the setup that way over the phone -- which was a much more frustrating situation for both of us.
