Avoiding double-NAT when connecting through ISP router
-
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what's the best config to have Amplifi obtain its internet connection via my ISPs modem router. Originally I had the ISP modem in bridge mode, however I have connection reliability issues, and have connected a failover 3G USB dongle. Since that doesn't work in bridge mode (xDSL only), I need to route traffic via the modem router.
There seems to be a few options to avoid double-NAT issues
- put Amplifi in a DMZ on the modem router
- DHCP relay from modem router to Amplifi
- put Amplifi in bridge mode
- turn off NAT on the modem router??
Just wondering what the advisable and most network-efficient config would be in this scenario?
Thanks
