Slow WiFi on Spectrum Gigabit

@chuck-hawks Hi Chuck, you can PM me. I would love to take a look in to your issues, I hope we can restore some performance to your equipment.

Hello I just moved and now have Spectrum 400mb service. I can't above 120 down load speed even when connected with a Cat 6 cable. Is there a firmware fix i can try?
Thanks,
-
@chip-barylak Please enable Hardware NAT in the app and test again. Also, test using a 3rd party speed test on a hardwired connection if possible.
-
@ui-brett thanks for the response.
I enabled nat, rebooted and no difference.
Please advise. I signed up for beta testing.
-
@chip-barylak Can you help me by describing your network.
What modem do you have from Spectrum, and is it a modem router combo? If so, is it placed into bridge mode or is AmpliFi?
Are you getting the expected speeds (400 mbps) if you directly connect a hardwire device to the modem?
What are your wireless speeds from AmpliFi?
-
@ui-brett hi. I don't know the brand of the modem but can look tonight. I am plugged directly into the spectrum modem. They had a wifi device but I unplugged it. If I put directly in the cable modem I get 400 down, if unplug the modem into the amplifi and then plug a cable in and to my laptop I only get 120 down.
Thx

@chip-barylak hello, I am still having the issues.
You asked what spectrum router I had, it is an E31nzvl, serial. 25218c114826. Pls advise

@chip-barylak is the router in bridge mode?
-
@chip-barylak I cannot find that modem online anywhere, there may be a different model # on the device. I also just spent the last little bit speaking with Spectrum about modems and they have a very specific list of modems you need to achieve their speeds. Did you purchase this modem or was it provided by them?
to what @Edward-Dolezal said, yes if your modem is a router as well, bridge mode will be needed.
-
@ui-brett Just guessing but the last character in the device model could be a 1, i.e. E31nzv1. A search on that comes up with a Hitron modem.
-
I'm guessing it's a cable service, and the modem provides VoIP?
If that's so then you will need an VoIP ATA( analogue telephone adaptor) I have a grand stream HT 812 works amazing.
I'm on a VDSL2 connection so that's why I use one.
-
@ui-brett I'm guessing the device has a built in DHCP server which means it has routing capabilities, I don't understand why there is no option form ISPs to provide a bridge modem only, hence why I with I had fiber optic internet then I could just if in the router and go after a Mac clone that is.
-
@ui-brett my fault.
E31N2V1. Wrote it down wrong
-
@chip-barylak it was given to me by spectrum. It's just a modem.
-
@chip-barylak We are still looking into this, it seems other are reporting issues with this very modem as well. Are you leasing the modem from Spectrum or did you purchase it?

I'm having the same issue, running the latest beta firmware.

Hi, i purchased the Amplifi router today, and am using charters docsis 3.1 modem. I cant seem to pull over 300, and 300 if im lucky. Is there any workarounds or anything for now?
-
@whiticus-washere Ensure your AmpliFi is in bridge mode or the Charter modem/router is in bridge mode (if its a combo devices, not a modem only). Another setting thats needed is Hardware NAT. Also, check with your ISP about IPv6. Some rely on IPv6 once you pass 500 MBps and toggling IPv6 on in AmpliFi may be required as well.

Tried it, not having any luck. max im pulling is 400
