No ping from 1 device to router via mesh point

I've been using Amplifi for a couple months now. One device, a Macbook Pro laptop, is periodically unable to ping the router IP address when connected over a mesh point. The problem persists until I turn the laptop's wifi off and back on. I'm looking for advice on how to further debug this problem. All other devices (another MBP, iPhones, etc) are able to ping the router just fine while this is happening. All diagnostic checks on the Amplifi app report green. There is nothing unique about the network preferences on the MBP with this issue.
