iPhone XS Max Update Warning!
The previous update I believe it was 2.89 fixed the speeds issue from the mesh points when using iPhones xs. I would get 200+mbs ( that is what I am actually paying for) on the main AMPLIFI HD router and 30-40mbs on the mesh points. Update 2.89 fixed that and I got 200+ Mbs anywhere in my 2 story 2500sqft house. Now like an idiot I updated to this new update 2.9.2 and it ruined the downloads speed again but worst!!!!!! Now I get 3-7mbs when connected to a mesh point. This is not good it literally made my iPhones XS Max unusable. Please Fix If not please guide me to downgrade back to 2.89. Thank You.!

@global-programming
I have issues with the Roku Streaming + WiFi remotes losing connection after that feature is enabled
-
@carlos-flores can you test a factory reset for me and see if it helps

BREAKS ETHERNET BACKBONE CAPABILITY
Not sure if anyone else has hit this - but posting it as a warning. I have two Amplifi HD routers configured with a Ethernet Backbone so the remote secondary device gets maximum speed and has additional ports for connectivity. After installing the update last night the remote secondary device LCD reads "No Internet Connection" and shows "offline" in the app. If I do a factory reset on the device I am able to re-add it as a WIFI mesh - but the moment I try to flip it into Ethernet Backbone breaks the device and goes back to this state. I spent some time on support chat with no luck so I am going to try to downgrade the firmware later this evening.

I have one AFi-R setup with an ethernet backhaul and it has worked fine after the update. I've done nothing special to fix things other than a standard power cycle I always do a little bit after the update.
-
@shane-milton Same, except I have 3 Amplifi HDs, two of which tie directly to the main. No issues except having to reboot after to restore wifi.
-
@carlos-flores Did you reboot your devices after the update was completed and everything was back online? I always have to do that to restore proper functionality.

@edward-dolezal
I did and same results. Before doing the factory reset I did the hard reset and same results extremely slow download speeds from the mesh points. I did turn the msdu feature and it did help with the speeds going from 3-7mbs to 80-100mbs from the mesh points. Now.....why do I have to enable Msdu to have decent speeds and second what happens to other iPhone XS users s that are not aware of this feature. By the way the Msdu feature does causes connection issues with my roku remotes and I have about 4 around the house.
-
@michaele
I did and same results I had to enable Msdu just to get slightly better speeds.
-
Working well for me so far, certainly not the issues I had on 2.8.9 that forced me back to 2.7.1
I have an iPhone Xs Max and don't have any issues on the mesh. Speeds are fine

Here is my current wireless speed with this firmware:
-
Just done some more tests. I'm still getting max speed when connected to the main router but when connected to either of the mesh access points my speed is more than halved. 200mb on the main and 70mb on the access points. The access points both have 100% strength connection with the main router. Should I not expect similar speeds to when I'm connected to the main router? It doesn't seem right to have such a large reduction in speed.
-
@steve-taylor-0 I have the same issues.....:..
-
@carlos-flores @Steve-Taylor-0 Can you please both generate support files from your system when you are experiencing these issues with your mesh points not giving you ideal speeds? In the email reference @UBNT-Brett as well as this community post so we can look into this issue for you.
-
@ubnt-brett ok I just emailed the support file
-
Devices not plugged in are showing up plugged in? Never seen this before.
-
@carlos-flores odd I noticed preformance diffences when I change 5 GHz channels I think in my case it's just interference you could check that with wifiman in the mean time.
-
@edward-dolezal
This is what I got with wifiman . I am connected to one of the mesh points signal strength is around 78-80% using 5ghz band. This is also with Msdu on.

Looks like a different interface on ios I'm getting way higher results on my android phone my Oppo find X and I have a crappy vdsl2 connection ill have to get the screen shot off my phone, see if that is visible.
Speed test

@ubnt-brett I will try and sort mine later. I was trying to generate them but received an error. I feel a factory reset coming on.
