Allow an update for two kits to be meshed together via wired backhaul or wireless

an update in firmware to allow two kits to be meshed together.
It does not make sense If someone buys a kit but cannot combine it with another kit in the house, you should be able to release the factory set up of the kit to make it an individual unit so we can set up these devices for a wired backhaul mesh or even a wireless if it works out.

Agreed !
This thing would sell out way more to home users instead of their Unify system if that was the case so they may be wanting to completely separate the different type of users from these products.
Still wish it was an option.

I was under the impression that you could mesh basically an infinite number of kits together. Can you not set a 2nd router/base unit to bridge mode and then make the wireless settings identical to the first unit? Would this not work?

It must be logical, and equitable to update the firmware to ensure that items purchased as part of a kit are not crippled.
As I have posted elsewhere I won't be buying more kit until this issue is addressed.

@jim-lipscomb You technically can do this, however it would not be a true mesh system.
-
@ubnt-jt what are the steps to make this work; and can you provide a firmware update to make this a true mesh via wired backhaul?
-
@brennen-gagnon There is no option to break this pairing from a factory kit. If you are wanting to merge two kits then you will only have the option explained above where it will not be a true mesh system.

@ubnt-brett Hey Brett, thanks for this information.
