Support for 802.11ax
-
Will Ubiquity Support for 802.11ax on existing AMPLIFI hardware?
-
Eight months is quite a while to wait for a reply !!
This is a question to which I, and I am sure others, would appreciate an answer, sooner rather than later.
If a definitive answer can't be given now it would help to have an indication of by when a response might be expected.

Good question, but I just checked and it appears 802.11ax has not been ratified!

@james-earl-ford Fair comment.
The OP was asking "Will Ubiquity Support for 802.11ax on existing AMPLIFI hardware?". It should by now be possible to reply "Yes" or "No".
Many manufacturers have announced & are actually shipping products which comply with the latest draft standard including Broadcom, Celeno, Intel, Marvell, Qualcomm and Quantenna, very many others have announced products which won't be finalised until the standard is ultimately ratified.
It would be nice to hear what we might expect - please.

@Daniel-Waite @Nigel-Steward 802.11ax will not be supported by existing AmpliFi equipment. It is a hardware adjustment and cannot be updated via software.

@ui-kevin Thanks for the very clear explanation!

@ui-kevin Many thanks; as I feared.
I look forward to an announcement of new hardware in due course. Hopefully it will incorporate the many features requested here, and more.

Waiting for a new Mesh Router with WiFi AX support from AMPLIFI!

@ui-kevin iPhone 11, new MacBook Pro and tons of android devices supports the 802.11ax (WiFi 6) making all “old” routers obsolete. When UI will announce that at least is working on that? Or better the release date of a new AmpliFi (or ubiquiti) that supports the new format?
