Firmware v2.9.5

  • AmpliFi firmware v2.9.5 has been released.
    Release notes:

    • Improved multicast IPTV performance
    • Band steering enhancements
    • Security updates
    • Guest network enhancements (Lease time reduced from 12 hours to 1 hour)
    • Firmware rollback feature added to web portal
    • Additional minor improvements

If may take up to 24 hours for your device to receive this update.

    Thank you!

  • Thanks for the clarification on the guest network enhancement!

  • @ubnt-brett still no ipv6 DNS setting. Pretty disappointing considering that just about everyone has requested one of the most basic features of any router on the market.

  • Was hoping to see Guest Network in Bridge mode but sadly not 😞

Otherwise seems to be stable update for me and possibly slightly better wifi speeds/range over the last 24 hours

  • @ubnt-brett I just found my lost teleport. Anywhere I can download firmware binary to push to my teleport? It's way back on 2.6.x or something.

  • Since this update, speeds have been abysmal.
The majority of my wireless devices speedtest lower than 5Mbps download, but over 30Mbps upload. Wired device speedtest performs differently. (screenshots for wired tests below) Very disappointing usage of a gigabit connection. With either Band or Router steering enabled, devices instead become disconnected entirely.

  • @andrew-kraut try speed test.net it's more accurate or dsl reports speed test.

Your uplink connection seems to be overloaded – ping to gateway IP address is unstable (round trip time varies between 6 and 25 seconds). Please try restarting modem if you have one. You can also check if rolling back to previous firmware version helps or contact ISP.

How exactly do I rollback? because I can't see anything on the web portal. Can anyone else see this feature?

  • @zander-martineau I believe it's in the support section. Should say update & rollback.

  • @wayne-culbreth https://community.amplifi.com/topic/1601/teleport-fw-2-9-3
Here are the steps to download and update to the recommended FW version.

  • @zander-martineau Navigate to http://amplifi.lan/support.php while connected to your home network to rollback.

  • @ubnt-karlis My uplink isn't saturated at all. My router and modem are both reporting no more than 40Mbps at any time. Rebooting modem or router devices don't improve things. Within the network even, speeds are incredibly slow. Here's iperf3 within the network, from a hardwired connection to a meshpoint that's using an ethernet backhaul; the destination is a server connected to the main router.

  • Hi Guys

I´m having a lot of VPN drop outs, streaming freezez etc since this last update. Definitely not working well here. I will likely have to roll back

  • @joakim-lundberg have you tested a reset to factory?

  • @ubnt-brett

I updated a few days ago, but looking at your infromation page it says 2.9.5 was released today. My device also promoted me to re-install it although I had updated just a day ago.

    v2.9.5 (13-Mar-19)

    Improved multicast IPTV performance
    Band steering enhancements
    Security updates
    Guest network enhancements
Firmware rollback feature added to web portal
    Additional minor improvements

    Was it re-called and re-issued?

  • @edward-dolezal No Not yet but Ill try.

I don´t why I always have to reset everything every time there is a new update. Very frustrating and time consuming, but it is what it is.

  • @joakim-lundberg probably because of all the changes we have to do it alot in the Asus forums.

Every Merlin update general consensus is to reset.

  • @joakim-lundberg I never got a second update I got the one from here oddly

    Also that's 13 March 2019 it's just abrivated.

  • @edward-dolezal Yeah, things are actually better after resetting. It wasn´t at first though, I had to physically power cycle all my 5 Amplifi units. I´ll monitor for a while now but so far wireless seems to be more stable. This will be the last update I Install for some time 🙂
