Is this going to work?
-
Hi folks, I wonder if connection like that will work and the PC will be on the same network (wired + wireless) like other devices connected via AmpliFI HD?
Note: I cannot connect PC directly to the ampliFI wirelessly neither via LAN.
Thank you in advance for any feedback / recommendation.
Cheers

Hi @jakub-kytka - is the VDSL box functioning as a router or is it just a pass-through modem?
Are you wanting to use the HD as a router, or are you fine for it to just provide WiFi access?
Are LAN1 & LAN2 bridged (same network) or do you have the option to bridge them in the UI?

@jakub-kytka why can't you connect the PC directly the modem looks like a vigor 130 I have one it's meant for bridge mode.
If the modem is used as a router it should in theory work but I'd the of can't be connected directly you might want to look into a second amplfii router to mesh with it to extend the network.

@edward-dolezal I can connect it directly to the modem as it is on the picture - PC is connected to LAN 1 port on the modem - which is Vigor as you mentioned, just not 130 but 165

@derek-saville thank you for your answer so far....the VDSL modem is Dray Tek V165, it is quite advanced model, so I belive that I can bridge LAN1 and LAN2. I would like to use HD as router as I want to connect TV, NAS and gaming console via LAN cable, the rest like iPhone and MacBook will be connected to the HD wirelessly

@jakub-kytka I meant if you can't connect it directly to the amplifi then you should look into a second amplfii router.

@jakub-kytka Without knowing the product details and researching in depth, at first glance if you can bridge LAN1 & LAN2 AND the VDSL box is functioning as a router then you should be able to enable bridge mode on AmpliFi and all devices would be on the same network.

Hi @jakub-kytka - as @UBNT-Brett stated, from what you described, it won’t work with the HD as the router
However, if your internet speed is less than 100 Mbps you could consider using Ethernet splitters to convert a single Cat5e/Cat6 line between the Vitek & AmpliFi HD into 2 separate 100 Mbps Ethernet connections, but network speed will be limited 100base-T
Otherwise you need to pull a second line, try USB WiFi, PowerLine Ethernet, MOCA if you have coax in the dwelling, or as @Edward-Dolezal suggested, add another HD Router to the mesh

Hello, thank you for your recommendation, these are the options which VDSL modem has

@derek-saville Thanks Derek, currently I am on 250Mbps

Hi @jakub-kytka - if you are wanting to run your Vitek in bridge mode and use the HD as a router then you need to connect the PC to a LAN port
Based on what you have described, the least amount of work (but highest cost) would be using 2 HD routers
