Trouble with remote login since firmware 3.1.2
-
Since firmware upgrade 3.1.2 I’m having trouble with the remote login.
- device: AMPLIFI HD
- The remote login is enabled already
- The connection is up, since I can access my personal cloud device
- the AMPLIFI app can not remote connect with the AMPLIFI (iOS) it says that it’s impossible to locate the device
-
@jorge-mario-delgado Is this on an iOS device? I'm having trouble on my iPhone remote logging in also.
-
Me too. iOS, latest app from store, HD device, remote access enables and was working prior to latest update. Now can only connect when on local LAN.
-
@adam-hall-0 @Jorge-Mario-Delgado @Tristan-Baptist Trying to identify a common factor here, I am on iOS and I am not experiencing this issue. What cell provider are you currently using, and when you test are you on a remote WiFi or cellular data?
-
Hi guys, same here, ios device, latest ios, latest app and firmware and no remote connection, app can’t find the router.
When I connect locally and click on the remote menu, I get and “oops, something went wrong” error. Using remote w/ ubnt account.
Logging out and in again sometimes fixes the problem - for a short period. Seems as if the app drops the session or something like that.
No luck after factory reset either.
Teleport app works fine though.
-
I too am having this issue. On iPhone XS max ios 13.2.2 on Verizon. cannot connect remotely. But my second phone, iPhone 7 plus on Verizon can connect remotely just fine. Tried factory resetting and deleting app but no dice.
-
@ui-brett I'm using Verizon. It also doesn't work when I'm on WiFi away from home.
-
Same here, I have 4 HD routers and unable to access them unless i am behind the router.
-
BTW: I am running IOS 13.2.2
-
Same here, iOS 13.2.2, firmware 3.1.2, remote access with Ubiquity account. Cannot remote connect consistently when away from Wi-Fi network. Sometimes it works, most of the time doesn’t work anymore. Please fix!
-
Thank you everyone for sharing all this information. I am looking into this now and testing once I have fully updated my iOS.
-
I have the same firmware as you, I am on the latest iOS with my iPhone X and for me I am able to connect when on LTE. It’s loading for like a minute, but yeah, it will connect eventually. I am registered with Google account to remote access.
-
@ui-brett iOS 13.2.2, iphone 12, have tried Wifi and T-Mobile. Nothing works remote. I currently have Facebook as the auth, but I want to change now that Ubiquity has an option
Once this works I will change.
-
OK, update. I logged out of the remote access in the Amplifi App, and back in and now remote access works again remotely. The VPN also works on Wifi when cellular is disabled.
-
@adam-hall-0 Thank you for the update! Remember, if you want to switch your devices remote access from Facebook to Ubiquiti, the device will need to be factory reset to remove the sync. Using the same network credentials will eliminate the need to reconfigure all of your devices on the network.
-
@ui-brett it’s really shame this can’t be done without factory reset
Can I at least backup the router settings and then after registering remote access load the backup?
-
@roman-bartík it is really not worth it as I went through the whole process of resetting and starting from scratch to find that the process of remote access via Ubiquiti account to be totally unreliable as others have widely reported here and had to do the whole reset again to use Google account to connect again.
-
@ali-hadi wow, thanks for letting me know...it’s a shame as I don’t like both google nor facebook
-
@roman-bartík they may eventually fix the problem with future firmware updates. Fingers crossed.
-
@ali-hadi @Roman-Bartík The next update for the app will have some improvements to the Ubiquiti account login option, including connection reliability and performance. I do not currently have an ETA on when this update will be released, but it will be relatively soon.
