Noticed on Best buy they sell similar antennas from the gaming version.

@milan-parekh This is a change we are implementing on all HD kits and stand alone mesh points. Thank you for posting the link to Best Buy, soon our AmpliFi store will also stock the updated style.

@ui-brett Is the performance still the same or has there been changes?

@ui-brett
I would also like to know how the range is on the new antenna's. I read this blogpost where Ubiquiti explains why they used the directional antenna with the swivel system: https://blog.amplifi.com/2016/12/16/the-evolution-of-home-wi-fi-part-2/

@steven-goris With the release of the AmpliFi Gamer's edition and the updated omni directional design of the antennas, we found better connection strength without the need to point the device in any specific direction. Along with that benefit, it is now more form fitting to your walls which reduces the chance of the antenna getting knocked off the power supply or curious children from removing it. Also, the swivel design allows a greater range of placement than the magnetic base, so if there is a need to point the antenna, this can still be accomplished.

@ui-brett That sounds like a nice improvement, thank you for the explanation!

The old one still looks better.

@milan-parekh I notice on the BB website when you add the new model to compare to the old, the new model is showing as (5250 megabits per second) while the old HD is showing as (1750 megabits per second) that seems like a pretty big difference?
