Alien Router Out of Stock?

I had an Alien mesh setup. My mesh point stopped working and Amplifi is unable to replace or repair it because they have no stock. So I had to buy a Linsys Velop MX 10 mesh system which is similar in features (except for the lack of touch screen). So I basically wasted $800 on a mesh system that no longer works less than three months after I purchased it.

@rleventhal Did you submit a warranty claim through our RMA department?

@UI-Brett Yes. But they would not tell me when a replacement will ship because they were out of stock. In the interim, I decided to try the beta firmware and it seems to have solved the problem. I need to test it for a few days, but so far it appears to have fixed it. It is odd that the support technician did not recommend the beta firmware.

@rleventhal What was the actual problem (which the beta firmware fixed)?

@Daniel-Osers The router was rebooting every ten minutes. If I unplugged it for ten minutes it would work for ten hour and then reboot every ten minutes. With the beta software it is no longer rebooting. But I will have to let it run for a few days to be sure that the problem does not return.

@rleventhal That sounds odd. You tried to factory reset. Are you having power issues?

It turns out the beta software did not fix the problem. After 28 hours the router resumed rebooting every ten minutes. Support promised to send a replacement, but will not tell me when it will ship.

I’d sure like to be able to purchase the mesh kit or two regular alien’s. I never get notification of stock after signing up and it seems many end up on eBay being resold for $500 each. Is there any indication of new stock? Can you notify some of us that have been trying to find one for a while before they are scooped up by resellers? I don’t want to bother with Orbi WiFi 6, but need something sooner than later.

@mikeehlert Same here- the stock alerts have worked quite well. I was able to get 3 that way (I am in a 3 story house), working great.

@cdd543 Sorry - yeah, try that. If you are registered it should actually show the current status (signed up) and not 'let you' re-subscribe. Hoping the supply chain situation will improve

I've been signed up to receive an email when either the Alien router or the router/meshpoint are in stock. Probably over a month now, but have never received a single communication yet.
If there is something more specific I should be doing, please let me know. I can't bring myself to buy one off of eBay.

@benkomd If you have Gmail, you got it also check your promotions email not just your main email. I remember waiting every day and checking, but that one day instead of going through main email I ended up checking the promotion tab and their it was posted for new restocking at 1pm so kept waiting and waiting till 1pm came and saw it was restocked for a few hours, place my order for one alien Router confirmed my order then I felt like I needed another one hesitated, left came back 10 minutes later and it was gone out of stock just like that.

@benkomd you're welcome also remember that we everything that is going around the whole shipping has slowed down and I know their marketing products is coming from Asia so maybe some countries borders might temporarily closed till further notice.
