How many mesh points can the AmpliFi HD support and how may mesh points can the instant support?
-
I am looking to cover an area approximately 11,000 sq ft. - Ideally I would use a single router and have 4 or 5 mesh with wands or cubes depending on which system can support more than 2 points.

@tal-sneed There is no realistic limit to how many mesh points you can add to your network. The limitation that you will face is the quality of the internet after an extreme number of "Hops" the data has to go through.
Do you have ethernet cables wired throughout your home? If so, then using AmpliFi stand alone routers like the Instant or the AFI-R is the way you want to go. This would eliminate the need for wireless hops and each access point would provide you will full performance anywhere in your home, just like you were connected to the primary router.
Even if you do not have ethernet cables ran in your home, you can still use the stand alone routers as mesh points, which would give you additional LAN ports throughout your home.
Hope this helps!

Yes, ethernet is wired throughout. Would each router connect to the same network as the main router or would each router broadcast it's own wifi network?

@Tal-Sneed 1 SSID

@Tal-Sneed One network, with one subnet and all the same SSID. Here is how you would configure each of the Ethernet Backhaul units.

Okay, great. Could you still use the wireless super mesh points?

@Tal-Sneed Absolutely! The one thing to remember is that you cannot combine two kits. Here is a breakdown of compatibility that may help.
