AmpliFi iOS Version 1.13.0 (Testflight Beta App)
-
Is there a specific way to start testing or will we have to wait for a firmware update on the following:
- Set custom icons for your devices
- Report missing icon if it can not be found
Edit: I see it's active for the HD units on the latest rc & not yet for the Alien. Great addition!
-
@Tristan-Baptist do you have the beta app installed?
-
@Virgil-Nicolae yes I have it installed
-
@Tristan-Baptist in this case, go to Devices, click on a device that doesn't have the icon correctly showed, click on Change the icon (top) and choose the correct one (you can browse the list of Manufactures):
-
@Virgil-Nicolae I know how to use it. It’s just not available for the alien units as of yet. From what I can tell it’s only on the hd units on the latest rc
-
@Tristan-Baptist Oh, sorry then.
I confirm that it's working fine on HD running latest beta fw
-
How can i join the Testflight program ?
-
@UI-Karlis , @UI-Brett , can you please send me a TestFlight code for beta testing the AMPLIFI software
-
@UI-Brett will the alien units be receiving a firmware to support this feature along with fixes soon?
-
@Tristan-Baptist Thank you for posting and explaining the changes (you make my job easy!)
That is correct, this is simply a test build to release the features notated in FW 3.3.0RC3
and we are looking for feedback in regards to assigning custom icons for your devices.
This test also shows a new metric for measuring the quality of your mesh point placement, which we are interested in feedback on as well.
-
@UI-Brett both the metric & new icons change system are a great addition. Very helpful for position HD units in my parents house.

Hi Brett,
I'm not sure, but before I updated the iOS app it showed something like +/-80% signal strength in the app between AFi-R and AFi-P
(Running the rc4 firmware)
Now in the new testflight app I see around -66 dBm when I open the mesh point.
How does that compare, it looks 'less' than before?
I didn't move anything around btw.
-
-66 dBm is about 80% signal strength give or take. Lower is better for dBm measurements. Ex. -44 dBm would be amazing signal strength right next to router, where -99dBm would be poor signal strength.
-
Ok thanks for clarifying that.
-
@Virgil-Nicolae yes. I have only installed the iOS Testflight software. The option to change the icons is not available unless you also have the AMPLIFI HD beta firmware installed.
-
@Ahmed-Ahmede yes, that is correct
-
Can some one send me code for TestFlight?

@UI-Brett thanks

@UI-Brett Are you still accepting beta testers for the iOS app? The invite code I've seen in the forums seems to have expired or reached the max number of uses. Thanks!
