Alien Router Firewall Settings
-
All,
I noticed lately a game I used to play on my old Netgear Nighthawk no longer works when playing multiplayer. The game is AoE2 Definitive Edition. I tried setting some of the ports, but it’s been awhile since I’ve done this in case I’m doing something incorrectly. I’ve attached a screenshot below. Has anyone else ran into this with this game? Everything else seems to be running great. Also I’ll mention I have a stand-alone arris modem>alien router> netgear dumb switch.

@Dan-Callahan Looks like the port forwarding is done correctly. Do you have a router in front of AmpliFi or a modem? What system are you using?
-
No it’s a stand alone arris modem and not a “gateway” and no other router.
-
@Dan-Callahan Are you running an Antivirus software? Looks like many users cannot run a firewall (software) while using multiplayer.
-
@UI-JT As far as the PC would go just the basic Windows firewall I wouldn’t of changed anything settings wise on there, and I have it paired with Malwarebytes.

@Dan-Callahan Take a look at this forum, users are reporting same issues. https://forums.ageofempires.com/t/known-issue-trouble-signing-in-to-multiplayer-servers/60117/81

@UI-JT
I also notice this, so I believe this may be causing the issue as well. I ruled out everything on my PC is there a way to adjust that setting on the Alien Router?

@Dan-Callahan Make sure you do a port forward for Xbox services to work properly. Here is a list of the ports you need to open: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/Hardware-Network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live
If you need help opening those ports in AmpliFi: https://help.amplifi.com/hc/en-us/articles/219134387-Configuring-Port-Forwarding
