Internal DNS
-
I've tried adding my own internal DNS server to my Amplifi HD, but it doesn't seem to work, DHCP clients are not able to resolve anything.
My internal DNS works fine as long as I manually change my client to specifically use it instead of the DHCP assigned DNS (Amplifi itself).Would it be possible to either fix this, or give us the ability to specificy which DNS servers are offered using DHCP (ideal solution) ?

Hi @lasseoe - did you enable “Bypass DNS Cache” in the web UI?
-
Hi Derek,
No I wasn't aware that the web UI had different options
It's unchecked.
In the app: Settings -> Internet I have Primary set to my own internal DNS and secondary to 8.8.4.4

@lasseoe After you'll enable the "Bypass DNS Cache" in WebUI, like mentioned by @Derek-Saville , things should work as you intend and your clients should receive the custom DNS settings (forced or once the lease expire).

@Virgil-Nicolae Ah! Thanks a million, I misunderstood what it meant that DHCP clients would received whatever the ISP pushed (via DHCP), overriding whatever was configured in the Amplifi.
Upstream to who, the router or the clientAgain thanks, it does exactly what I was looking for.

@lasseoe you're very welcome, happy that you're happy, after all
