@UI-Brett question on the icons ... If you alter the icons to be accurate, are the choices saved in the backup export?
Wouldn’t want to update 46 devices and have to do that again if I needed to restore
-
@Adam-Hall-0 Yes, icon choices are saved in the the backup export.

Hi, my mesh got updated automatically to 3.3.1 last night and I’m suddenly having performance problems with my network. Everything stays connected but I seem to get long pauses of packet loss even pinging the router on the local network. I’ve tried rebooting everything a few times but the problem returns. Any suggestions or others seeing the same issue?
-
@UI-Brett I changed icons but they don't appear in profiles.
-
@slcosta Nothing else reported as of yet, but can you generate support files for us to review?
-
@Surendran-Abraham Thank you, I have confirmed this issue.
-
@UI-Brett It looks 802.11r was re-added, too, as an option in the web interface (only .v and .k were selectable earlier). Do you have info on its implementation? Any downsides to - in a dense Alien Router setup (say, 3 wired-backhaul APs) - enabling r (in addition to v and k)? Thx!
-
@slcosta Mine did the update, yesterday. Now I can't get my Tivo or Nvidea Shield to work.
-
I absolutely love being able to update the icons! I also really like the badge that shows up when there is a WiFi device connected. It's great!
Suggestion: During the device icon search it should put the most recently added at the top. I had 12 LiFX bulbs that I needed to constantly search to add. Maybe a bulk assignment feature would help as well.
Also when changing icon it should list the current device network name that was assigned

@Art-Maki Unplugged everything before I went to bed last night. In the morning, plugged back in. Everything is working as normal.
-
@slcosta I'm having a similar issue. I generated a support log for support with the ticket that I opened. I just rebooted everything on my network. Hopefully that addresses the issue. It was rock solid with the last firmware. I updated to 3.3.1 two days ago and have been having sporadic issues since then.

Anyone have comments on general stability/performance for this firmware? It seems like some issues with mesh points, but I've only been running one unit connected to my modem in router mode.
Also, firmware rollback has not yet been implemented in this release, correct?
-
@Lawliet-Keffor FW rollback should be available via WebUI, normally (Support tab)
-
@Virgil-Nicolae - so it is confirmed rollback has been implemented on Alien as of v3.3.1 and it works to go back to v3.2.5?
Rollback was still not available on Alien as of v3.2.5
-
@Derek-Saville unfortunately, I cannot confirm you that, was just a supposition I made. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Hi @Virgil-Nicolae - no worries, I was just hoping it was now implemented and working on Alien as it is a very useful feature
Hi @UI-Karlis - do you have rollback working on Alien in v3.3.1?
-
I'm still seeing the extra 5Ghz radio turn on with each reboot/change, I thought that was supposed to be fixed in this firmware? It's minor since I don't mess with it too much but I thought I'd mention it.
