Question on Setup Teleport Router to Router

  • I'm seeing some information that contradicts, so figured I would ask. I have an HD at my home in bridge mode behind my primary MKT router. I bought an HD for my parents. They will be using it for their main device in NAT mode pulling a DHCP address from their cable modem in bridge mode. I have seen some things that say with this setup I won't be able to teleport back to my home router in bridged mode. Is that true or not?

  • Hi @Brandon-Shiers - not true

At the location you want to Teleport to, often referred to as the ‘Home Router’, the AmpliFi can be in Bridge mode or DHCP mode

At the location you want to Teleport from, often referred to as the ‘Remote Router’, the AmpliFi must be in a DHCP mode

So in the example you described you can physically be at your parents house and establish a router-to-router connection back to your personal home

  • @Derek-Saville thank you for the clarification!
