Need set-up HELP!!

I have an AmpliFi HD Mesh System and I also have an AmpliFi "standalone" Mesh Router, my question is....Can I use the AmpliFi Mesh Router as my Main router on the first floor of my home and backhaul the AmpliFi HD Mesh System in my finished basement? Or does it have to be the other way around (vice versa).
Thanks,
Ken

Hi @Kenny-Bautista - it must be the other way around
Any time that you have a kit system the router from the kit MUST be the primary router of the mesh
You can add the standalone router later as a mesh point

@Kenny-Bautista Just to add one more thing, when you have successfully added the additional router as a mesh point to the network, the mesh point antennas that came in the HD kit, can also communicate with the stand alone router as a mesh point. So feel free to place the meshpoints wherever you need them.

@Derek-Saville - Thanks for the reply....One more thing once the Standalone Mesh Router is in backhaul does it transmit WiFi signal?
Thanks.

Hi @Kenny-Bautista - yes, when the standalone router is installed as a mesh point (either wireless or wired Ethernet backhaul) it will continue to transmit the WiFi signal
There is actually no way to turn off the WiFi signal, even if you wanted to
One more thing I forgot to ask, is your standalone router and HD, Instant or Alien?
The Alien routers are not compatible with HD and Instant routers for creating a mesh
-
@Derek-Saville My standalone routers are an HD and an Instant

Hi @Kenny-Bautista - then you should have no issues creating a complete mesh with all of your devices as long as the HD router from the system kit is installed first as the primary router
