Does Alien Work With Amplifi HD Mesh Points?
-
Hi - thanks in advance for looking into this and spending time on this.
My current setup: I have an Amplifi HD network in my home with 2x HD mesh points. It works OK but I want to boost our wifi in the home as we stream a lot of video.
My conundrum: I purchased an Amplifi Alien off eBay last week (as sold out elsewhere) and connected it and it worked great within a short distance around it... but does not read my existing HD Meshpoints and I need them to extend the range for my home.
My question:
1/ Can I use my existing HD Meshpoints with the Alien?
2/ If not, can I purchase Alien meshpoints? If so, where?
3/ Or am I thinking about this wrong? Thanks in advance.

@Darren-Herman The others should chime in soon. But following other threads that have asked this it appears that only another Alien can be used as a mesh point and will not work with the other system.

@Darren-Herman , @John-Pappas is correct, you can purchase a second AmpliFi Alien router and add it as a mesh point. The only difference between a second router, and the mesh point in the Alien kit is the missing LCD screen, and missing 4 port LAN switch on the mesh point, so some users prefer to use 2 Alien routers instead.
