Unable to setup a custom domain on the local network.
-
The Amplify Alien doesn't provide a way to customize the domain that is hosted on the internal network, eg. custom domains can't be used.
-
@Antoni-Baranski As far as completely custom domains that is not possible with AmpliFi, I will add this as a feature request! Thanks.
-
@UI-JT how are subnet mask editing and a custom domain related?
-
@Antoni-Baranski Are you looking for something like DDNS? This has been requested but is currently not a feature we have implemented. But you are correct, there is not a way currently to customize the domain name.
-
@UI-Brett is it possible to add this feature with a firmware update, as this is very important for me
-
@thirtythr33 DDNS is a requested feature but has not been approved or implemented yet. Is that the feature you are looking for? if so I will add your vote to that request.
-
@UI-Brett thank you for the reply. what I am looking for is setting custom domains on the router itself (I host my own website/cloud storage server) and need a custom domain in order to work with my storage on my LAN, not WAN. please include a custom domain setup option in a future firmware update please!
-
@thirtythr33 Thanks for the recommendation! I will add your vote for this feature.

I, too, would like this feature. If I execute the command
ping -a ip_address
sometimes it returns with hostname.lan and other times with hostname.local. I would like to add my own domain name, so my DNS entries are hostname.mydomain.com.
