Call for Feature Requests #1
-
Hardware NAT work is wrapping up, and we're starting to look for what features to do next. I've seen some very good suggestions, but there's a lot of them, so we'll have to vote.
Let's do it like this:
- one post per person
- each post should contain one feature request
- limit feature request to 280 characters
- upvote as many posts as you like
When we have a list of top voted features, we could open the post to further discussion.
-
Add Smart Queue QoS.
-
Add DDNS
-
Bandwidth logging. Data caps are becoming the norm now and I want to see what devices are using the most and past clients as well.
-
Add remote Teleport capability to current HD Mesh Router platform for fixed 2nd home / remote office installs
-
Selecting WiFi Channel of every used Mesh Point/Mesh Router on 2.4 Band. This for better handling with neighbours Wifi
-
International power plugs for the router and mesh points.
Type-C for most European countries (see link)

Please show the devices and ports below 'Port forwarding' which device that uses UPnP to open ports to the outside world.
-
Block specific network traffic (e.g. torrent traffic) for your guest/home network.
-
LCD home function. So the display only lights up when one specific(or more) devices are connected to the main router during daytime. Like your phone for example. Saves power and LCD.
-
Guest WiFi in Bridge Mode.
-
USB support. Integrate a UPNP/NAS media server feature for external hard drives.
-
second WAN support!
-
Improve UPnP support for multiple devices. For example two or more XBox machines all using same ports to connect to XBox Live..
-
Automatic failover for multiple AF-R routers when using Ethernet backhaul? I noticed that when I disconnected my primary AF-R, all others lose connection despite being hardwired to an EdgeRouter.
-
Port forwarding for IPv6
-
Improved handoff. Right now devices don't automatically handoff to mesh points very well or not at all without forcing it.
-
Some sort of API (web, snmp, whatever) to at least retrieve status data from the network without need to use the app. I'd love to be able - for instance - to make something to quickly see to what mesh my device(s) are connected
-
Internal DNS forwarding external requests to whatever you have setup and handling the name resolution for your dhcp clients.
I have lots of raspberry pi's and NUC's all with IPs statically assigned and it would be neat if Amplifi could resolve the names for them like my old router used to do.

On the app, show the IP address of every device on the Family tab.
