I have the same setup as you (ATT U-Verse) but I switched to the wired (coax) ATT TV boxes. I have my AmpliFi HD in bridge mode and wifi on the ATT modem is turned off. I have two other AmpliFi HDs as mesh devices (RAMP) that are connected to the primary HD unit with ethernet over coax. I get full 1GB (or close to it) when wired into any of the HD units. Most of my streaming devices (Apple TVs, smart TVs) are hard wired into the mesh units.

So do the tv boxes work ethernet through the AmpliFi?

No - they are connected via coax. I have a splitter from the coax outlet. (I wanted to hook them up via ethernet, but the ATT installer would not let me). One side is connected to the ATT box and the other to the MOCA adapter. The AmpliFi is connected to ethernet from the MOCA adapter. Below is a link to a post on this forum that has my details:(https://community.amplifi.com/topic/1195/hd-mesh-router-connected-using-actiontec-bonded-moca-2-0-ethernet-to-coax-adapter/14)
Hope this helps.
