Teleport for FireTV
-
Hi everyone,
I am interested in buying the Amplifi Alien, yet I would really need a Teleport version that works on Amazon's FireTV.
This has been asked before but has anything happened regarding a working version?Sideloading the normal Android Teleport does not work.
I'm looking forward to your reply.

@AleXSR700 unfortunately no working solution for Fire TV without an extra router to use remotely.

How disappointing. Nobody travels with a second router. So not really a sensible solution

@AleXSR700 I have set this up at home: https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-mv1000/
And I can use it as an OpenVPN or a Wireguard server and connect to it from anywhere in the world using widely available apps. Works with no problems and, I have to say, faster than the Teleport.

Interesting. But far too expensive for what it is. No 5 Ghz. Not really a full router. But for the price of an amplifi hd or a fritz!box router.

@AleXSR700 it is actually a fully fledged router (has so many more routing featurs than the AmpliFi) and very fast at VPN as well for that matter. No WiFi radio for my one I agree but that does not make it any less of a router and I use it in front of my AmpliFI that has more than a brilliant WiFi coverage anyway.

I'm not really looking to spend hundreds on multiple devices that are each just capabale of a single thing.I have cable internet right now. So I need a cable router (supplied by the provider). So any normal router like the Brumme would simply be a WiFi AP. However, due to the poor wifi specs it is not suitable for that purpose.
