Can I connect two routers via teleport?
-
Hello,
I am looking for a solution for my VPN needs and stumbled across your teleport system. My brother actually has one and is very happy with it.But what I wondered was, whether it is possible to permanently connect two routers with each other? Basically like the teleport hardware but with two routers.
If so,- is there a speed limit? I thinkg the Teleport device is max. 17 Mbps. Or does this apply to the software also? Would this apply to router-to-router as well?
- would the two routers automatically reconnect to each other after e.g. a power failure or something?
- would I still need the teleport app or would they work like the teleport device and host a VPN connection?
- what is the encryption used? I checked out my brothers teleport and it only uses a 6 figure key. That seems quite unsafe considering it would grant access to all my devices at home.
I hope someone can help me with this. I am really trying to find the perfect solution for me and ubiquiti seems like the place to look. But I do not higher bandwidths than 17 Mbps.
Thank you

Hi @AleXSR700 - no, Router-to-Router Teleport does not work the same as the Hardware Teleport solution
Router-to-Router Teleport can maintain permanent VPN connections for individual devices (or Ethernet ports) via proxy, but it is not a L2 solution like the HW Teleport...
