How to access local WiFi test?
-
I saw this feature update from the latest iOS update.
I'm very happy to see this suggestion implemented. However, I can't seem to find this test. I have my Alien on bridge mode so is that why it's not available? If that is the case any reason why this test can't be used in bridge mode?

@Vincent-Ngo When your in app speed test finishes, it will display the WAN side speed results on the top, and your devices test results underneath. It does also work when your AmpliFi is in Bridge mode.
-
@UI-Brett ahh. Got it. I found it. Thanks!

@UI-Brett I’d like to commend the developers for adding this feature to the Amplifi app. It’s extremely convenient and useful in comparison to using the Speedtest app or a browser mechanism that is always dependent on the server the test is run from and the distance from your location as well as the traffic through that server. Plus it gives me higher numbers than the Speedtest app does, which one is more accurate I have no idea but I do like seeing those higher numbers.

I definitely agree. 1 minor improvement would be if it would let me do just the local wifi speed test w/o the internet one separately. Overall I'm delighted to see this feature!

@UI-Brett
Is there a chance to see the local speed test feature added to AmpliFi HD range or this depends on hardware not present in HD?
-
@Timofey-K I am not certain, but I will push this up the chain to see if it is a possible feature in the future or not.
-
@UI-Brett Unfortunately the Android app is devoid of any such feature. It would probably quell a lot of the speed test complaints. Am I missing something?
-
@unseenone The screenshot above shows both is iOS and Android. If you are running the speed test from the app, and your device is not connected to the local network rather using remote access, then it will not show your devices speed.
-
@UI-AmpliFi Evidently it might not be if you are in Bridge Mode, or perhaps you can steer me to that screen, as I have never seen it.
-
@unseenone You are correct. In Bridge Mode it will work on the iOS app, but with an Android we are still developing that feature and should have that released soon.

@UI-AmpliFi I'm on current BETA and haven't seen it yet.
