How to use ddns
-
Hello. I have cameras and a I need to configure the DDNS. I have the modem in bridge mode, and the Alien is the router that give internet to my house. How can I get the ddns in use? Can I connect another route to the Alien and configure ddns in this router?

@José-Luis-Revah Hello, you could place another router infront of the AmpliFi Alien that supports DDNS and then place the Alien in bridge mode.

Yes, but the other router is old so I need to reset it twice o three times a day. Can I connect to the modem the Alien and the other router? In this way the old router only give me the ddns service and my local network is given by the Alien router?

@José-Luis-Revah this configuration will likely not work, your devices connected to the Alien won't be able to reach the cameras connected to your old router. Do you need direct LAN access to the cameras? There may be a way to get it to work with port forwarding if you do not need direct LAN access to the cameras.

Thanks for the answer. I don't need LAN access to the cameras, they are wifi. If I configure the cameras to receive internet from the Alien, and the old router only is to have the ddns configuration, you say it doesn't word?

@José-Luis-Revah are you able to use something like this?

Thanks. I have dyndns. In fact in my old router I set up my dyndns account. My doubt is if this service connect the account to internet o if it connect to the router.
