Does AmpliFi HD Router support 802.11 v, k, r?
-
I'm considering buying AmpliFi and looking for a detailed data sheet for AmpliFi to ensure it fits my needs.
In particular: I have Unify AP which I like a lot (it's fast, supports 802.11v, k, r, ac) and want to buy a router that would play well with it. I need a router with fast Wi-Fi 5 (or Wi-Fi 6) roaming (which means 802.11v, k, r, ac or ax) and a few LAN gigabit ports.
The data sheet I found[1] does not specify whether the router supports 802.11v, k, r. However, FAQ page[2] mentions v, k, r under "Advanced settings in the Web UI" and this screenshot[3] does too.Could you clarify? If you already tried to set up roaming, how well did it work?
On a different note, the same page mentions "Ad blocking". Is it DNS-level blocking? Which lists does it support (and how does it compare to PiHole)? Does it support DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS?
Thank you.

v & k are supported on Amplifi HD - unsure about anything else.

They’re supported on the Alien too.

@802-11vkr The AmpliFi uses a DNS based service to provide AdBlocking, it does very well but note that embedded ads like YouTube uses will still appear. These protocols are supported by the Alien product line.

@UI-AmpliFi Just to make sure I understand correctly:
- AmpliFi HD router does supports v & k, but not r
- Alien supports v, k, r
Thank you.

@802-11vkr Correct! Except the HD supports R as of firmware 3.3.0!
