AmpliFi Alien Firmware Release Notes
-
Any details as to exactly what has been changed?
-
@UI-AmpliFi any way to get the update quickly? Checking for firmware update in the app didn’t show it as available.
-
I guess I was lucky? Were you already on the beta?
-
@Mike-P is it the same build number as the beta?
-
@Richard1864 Don't know what the beta was but it is 47-0-g55e68fc3d3
-
So far, seems to be stable and speeds are good. Will do some more testing and see, but so far, happy with it
-
@Richard1864 appears to be the same build number...
-
@Mike-P I was on the beta, but had to go back to the original when iOS 14 beta starting having Wi-Fi issues.
-
3.4.1 installed fine and I’ve had zero issues. Seems to be stable so far even with iOS 14 beta. Alright devs, please bring on the big requests in next few updates
-
@Richard1864 do you have a list of what was improved? I don't like changing things if they are working unless there are significant benefits. Thanks!
-
@nofear72784 I noticed that 3.4.2 was released within the last 24 hours.
-
@James-Ford that’s for the other AMPLIFI routers, not Alien.
-
The performance on both my Aliens was good while in Beta firmware. Once I updated to the new one 3.4.1, I can't go past 150 mbs in my main Alien on iPhone 11 max. When I'm close to the mesh point (ethernet backhaul) I get over 400 mbs. Tried to do a factory reset but no change. And I don't see the option to roll back in web ui.
-
@maratonomak beta 3.4.1rc2 is the same firmware as public 3.4.1. If you are experiencing these issues, chances are the cause was present on the latest beta firmware, just something recently has triggered this issue.
Can you generate support files for us after running a speed test confirming the issue
-
@UI-AmpliFi
I was with support today and the issue was escalated . I already sent the support file
I used to get over 500 (most of the times) with the beta firmware. I did a factory reset after I installed the official 3.4.1 and still the same. No issues with wired devices though (940mbs down and 41mbs up)
I have a question: Since I'm using iPhone 6 with wifi 6, if I enable the additional 5Ghz radio with a different SSID I can't connect to that SSID with my iPhone. Other devices non wifi 6 are able to connect and have good speeds.
-
@UI-AmpliFi Was this Alien firmware released to a small batch of users, since others are saying that the build number matches to the beta version? I checked multiple times and I do not see V3.4.1 available for update on my device via app and web portal. Is this the 3.4.1 golden master copy?
-
@Skillzx5 I was told the last beta build is the same as the released version.
-
The issue I have on the latest firmware is when connected to WiFi6. If connected to wifi 5 the speed on both my iPhone11 and Alienware desktop looks fine. If connected to wifi6 the speed goes back to around 130-150mbs in 1gb Xfinity connection.

@maratonomak have you tried resetting your Alien(s) to factory defaults to see is that helps?
