AmpliFi Alien Firmware v3.4.1
-
@UI-AmpliFi I realize this is the wrong location for this post. When you have a minute, could you move it over to Suggestions?
I noticed there's already thread called "DFS and channels higher than 48" so maybe you could move it into that thread?
Thanks!
Greg

@gburlingame Just so you know they have said they are working on adding 160mhz (DFS). It will be in a future firmware update.
-
did the update already fully release and if not when will it be releaseing?
-
@Carlos-Martinez yes, it did last month
now we have to wait for the new firmware with the Wifi fix for a lot of devices (iPhone 11/11 Pro and SE 2020 models, PS4 pro... iPad pro 2020 etc etc) the amplifi team is working hard on the fix.. but there is just no ETA when it will release
-
@UI-AmpliFi any good news on fixes / a release?
-
I’d like an update too. It’s been a few weeks. Thanks!
-
Let’s have another update please. I am waiting and eager for the fix as well!
-
What is taking so long to issue any news or an ETA? Do they not know what the exact issue is? Some communication would be greatly appreciated.
@UI-AmpliFi - Please assist!
-
I agree with the sentiment above. It has been far too long with no communication. Not good.
-
@Rishi-Bhatia I am disappointed in the slow updates. Hopefully this adds 160mhz or WPA3. To be honest its been almost a year and they have not added WPA3 or 160Mhz. These are features ALL the other WIFI 6 routers have. If its not added soon I am going to be selling mine. Updates take too long. WPA3 is a must, since WPA2 can be hacked in a min or so.

They released a new firmware RC. Not sure why they wouldn’t update this thread. From reading the thread linked above things still seem a bit off...
-
@David-Mulcahey-0 I just saw. Lots of improvements but looks like there’s more bugs. Not sure why they couldn’t stop messing with 3.4.0 -it seemed fairly stable
-
I bought my Alien recently. It was only initially updatable to 3.4.0. Today they made 3.4.1 available to me. So I'm guessing this is a "new" 3.4.1 with a lot of the issues mentioned resolved.
-
3.4.1 is available to all via the app. Updated a couple of hours ago. So far, so good.
-
@dag777 Will they auto update overnight or during the day? I’d rather not trigger this intentionally since everything is working well right now.
-
@John-Pappas No idea. I triggered the update via the app. Like I said, so far, so good.
-
@dag777 Thanks. I’ll wait awhile and see if it updates on its own. Good to know that everything seems good.
-
So is the v3.4.1 water safe to swim in?
After going through some really bad firmware experiences with my previous HD, I've become very reluctant to do updates on the Alien. Life is currently good with v3.4.0 -- so I don't want to introduce regressions for no real gains.
What is the current consensus on v3.4.1 stability/performance?
-
Oh boy. Yesterday I just downgraded back to 3.4.0 from the old 3.4.1. Hopefully @UI-AmpliFi can chime in and let us know if this re-release of 3.4.1 is any different from the one that was pulled back in August(?).
-
For those that have upgraded, is it stable so far? I wish vendor would chime with simple we addressed issues that held it and have re-released it.
