Unable to port forward with Alien
-
Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I'm having in regard to port forwarding. I cannot get this router to open the ports on a client PC. The network device has an ip of 192.168.152.2 and the range of ports are 49152-52484. I've set these forwarding rules up in the amplifi app, however it still tells me that these ports are closed. Any suggestions? Thanks!

@Andrew-Petyo Did you assign that device a static IP in the AmpliFi app as well as on the device itself? Is this a hardwired device, wireless device or both?
-
@UI-AmpliFi Thanks for the response. Yes, the device is a PC that is hardwired and was assigned a static ip in the app and on the device.

@Andrew-Petyo Can you share your port forwarding rules? I have tested this on a device and was not able to replicate the issue.

I’ve added a screen shot of my forwarding rule.

@Andrew-Petyo That looks correct to me. How are you verifying the ports are still closed on the PC? Do you have a second router in your network at all, one from the ISP or a modem/router combo device?

@UI-AmpliFi I only have the cable modem upstream from the router. Its new as well (model # Arris 8200, I believe). I do also have a gigabit unmanaged switch in between the router and the PC. Another thing that came to mind is I changed my DNS when i first setup the router as well. I’ve been using canyouseeme.org to check ports and using telnet on the PC.
