SSID drops during WiFi throughput testing
-
Over the last few days, I have been running WiFi throughput tests with iPerf3 between my wired UniFi Application Sever (UAS-XG) and 4 wireless test clients, through the Gamer's Edition router WiFi The mesh points are not installed. I have done 5 rounds so far and not once round has completed without WiFi dropping in the middle of a test run. Some times the WiFi will drop during testing of 1st device or second device or 3rd device or 4th device. I regularly test UniFi APs and these dropouts do not happen. I have also tested Google/TP-Link OnHub Router and Linksys Velop router and these dropouts do not happen.
My test lab setup and methodology is documented here: https://community.ui.com/questions/UniFi-AP-Throughput-Tests/e7f5b047-a94b-4531-b962-64c54b42326e
In order to test 2G and 5G bands separately, I have created ADDITIONAL SSIDs: AmpliFi2G and AmpliFi5G.
At the beginning of test everything looks good on the System Info - Devices page. Thank you for implementing this page and functionality.
However, during the WiFi throughput test run, AmpliFi2G SSID will drop-off. My Macbook Pro 2014 (MBP2014) and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will get disconnected from AmpliFi2G SSID but not other 2 devices. On MBP2014 and GalaxyS6, the AmpliFi2G SSID can no longer be seen to rejoin.
On the System Info - Devices page, the CONNECTION percentage and TX/RX rate is much lower.
The iPerf3 test output looks like this before and after AmpliFi2G SSID drops.
