CenturyLink fiber or router issue?

I’m currently using Alien router to bypass CenturyLink’s modem via PPPoE. And as good people on this forum have suggested, I have vlan tagging enabled set at 201. Not using IPv6 nor in bridge mode.
I can get a connection, but from there it becomes spotty. My connection is constantly dropping and reconnecting, to the point that it’s happening multiple times per day. Most of the time I can connect to the router with both wired / wireless devices, but am usually getting “no internet connection.” What’s weird is sometime I do get times of connection, and the speeds will fluctuate. Sometimes it will be at 900mbps, sometimes 1/3 of that.
I’ve researched as much of the topics on other CenturyLink fiber users, who all may have a similar problem. However, I can’t seem to find a definitive fix.
