Teleport VPN
-
I set up teleport VPN, and it seems to connect just fine. When I go to the Apmplifi app, it shows me connected etc. However, I cant get to anything on my LAN. What am I missing?

Hi @mxquattro - have you enabled Local Network access?
-
@Derek-Saville Hi there, thank you for the email. I should have mentioned this, yes, I do have that enabled. Most of the time when I connect, it connects right away. However when I go to my app that I want to access local LAN with (even ping) then it alerts me that it disconnects.

@Derek-Saville Also, theres no VPN app for windows? Or any way for my windows machine to connect back home?
-
Hi @mxquattro - the Teleport App and Router-to-Router Teleport are not L2, so not all protocols are passed thru, but I can confirm that pinging local IP addresses works from a Window command prompt over an R2R connection
You might want to generate Support Info files at both locations after a failed access disconnect and submit them to see if they can find a cause
theres no VPN app for windows?
Correct
any way for my windows machine to connect back home?
Not easily, especially while traveling, so there isn't a real replacement for the old HW Teleport
For fixed remote locations, I prefer to use Router-to-Router
You do not need to use the remote AmpliFi router as the primary router at the remote site - double NAT'ng in DHCP mode works for Teleporting

Wow. The more I use this thing the more I find out, its pretty close to useless. The whole point was for laptop access to the internal network when away
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Not having a windows client is pretty inexcusable at this point. Some of us leave the house once in a while and need to access resources on their local network. Even the crappiest routers offer this ability.
