Connecting AmpliFi Alien to a public access wifi

Can i use the AmpliFi Alien to connect to a public access wifi in my building? The building has free wifi. I dont have access to the modem. Can i connect to the Optimum public access wifi and get these amazing speeds that AmpliFi provides??

I would imagine that you would need another router that works as a wireless client to sit in between the public WiFi and you AmpliFi as the latter doesn't support WiFi WAN.

I'm not sure I understand your question. If your device can "see" the Public Access SSID, you can connect to it so long as it doesn't require a PW, but then you wouldn't "see" many of the devices that currently are on your own LAN.
