@David-Verch well it started up and got stuck and rebooted and the update did not take.

@David-Verch what is reasonable? How many hours each week should we have to spend setting this mess thing up? Oh know there is a blank screen now. I took my eyes off of it. What is happening? No one knows. Oh new screen it says updating. Is it really updating or just mocking me? Meantime I reset the second alien to factory expecting to have to do the same to this one.

@David-Verch well 3 hours and it is still messed up. 3am going to bed to deal with it Sunday
-
@David-Verch well Sunday morning and more of the same. I have a feeling this is a time based issue of some sort triggered by the security camera dvr cycling power.
-
Ok so I ended up having to reset to factory on Sunday Morning. I have them at 3.5beta 2. I have disabled the auto reboot on my Swann security system. I think that may have something to do with it, what I have no idea. I have 44 devices connected which can go up over 50 at times depending on who is here and awake. If you remember when Apple debuted the Airport they touted how it could handle 252 devices. So 50 should be easy for the Alien what with everyone getting smart switches etc.

@David-Verch May I ask a simple question?
Just HOW can you type so fast when you're rebooting your router between each and every message. That alone would carry us to Biden-as-President by my quick calculations.
<ducking>

@jsrnephdoc I was on my phone connected to the cell service. I had two phones, my iphone on cell service and an android watching for when the Alien would come back up. With everything relying on WiFi, texts calling etc. you really need a reliable solution.
-
@David-Verch sorry, but that makes me even more suspicious of the rapidity with which you composed your staccato replies. While I'm 4 decades past my personal observation that one can guess the age of an iOS device user based on whether said user attacks its virtual keyboard with one forefinger or two thumbs, the latter would seem almost incapable of propagating message misses at that rate unless one relied on Apple's intuitive guesses of what you're trying to type, and at the rate yours were assaulting the server last night, there should be some absolutely hilarious whoppers in there.
Not saying I didn't enjoy the soliloquy, just that it seemed a bit improbable, given how long it takes my own Alien to reboot.
-
@jsrnephdoc I wish you could have been here the company would have been nice.

@David-Verch many days, hiding from the virus, we don’t even open the front door, let alone go anywhere
