AmpliFi HD Firmware v3.4.4
-
AmpliFi firmware v3.4.4 for AmpliFi HD, Instant and Teleport hardware has been released.
Release notes:
- Improved stability
- Fixed SSID issue after updating from old firmware version
- Enhanced compatibility with IoT devices
- Other minor improvements
We use a gradual rollout and it may take up to a week for the devices to receive this update.
-
Anyone who use 3.4.4 and has notice any drop slow down on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz ?
-
@jaja-eeh Is it a gradual or fast drop?
-
@UI-AmpliFi I for one would really appreciate a little more detail in the release notes. What was the SSID issue that was fixed? What IoT devices should we expect to be more compatible now, and how was that accomplished? Come on, weeks if not months were spend on this, perhaps more than a minute could be spent on the release notes?
-
@Matthew-Leeds do you have access to the beta forum as there is discussion in there about some of the changes.
-
Is this basically the same / based on the last beta?
-
@Raka74 Yes, this version is based on the latest beta.
-
@_apt Never been told that I do. Some discussion would be good, more verbose release notes accessible by all would be much better. Poking around it appears that I've access to some areas labeled beta.
I'd also appreciate verbose write-ups on how to use the new features in each release that has new features. AmpliFi HD was sold as a consumer product with 'ease of setup and use' as a prime purchase feature. The initial setup guides were fairly good (and I say that as someone who has written user manuals in the past) but I've not see an updated single document in some time. Instead there's a collection of documents scattered in the forums that one has to hunt to find.

Ran upgrade and mesh points only were upgraded to 3.4.4 leaving the base at 3.4.3 so ran update again to get them all running 3.4.4.
Seems stable and consistent

Anyone has any kind of issue with the new firmware 3.4.4 ?
-
@UI-AmpliFi I know recently I have been posting some not so happy comments about your firmware developments but I always sleep well when I read my fav topics such as these!!

So, thank you.
But, I hope you folks become less busy fixing bugs and more busy adding features requested by your customers / fans!

Update HD from rc3. No issues noted so far...
-
@UI-AmpliFi I can’t upgrade from 3.4.4.rc3 to 3.4.4 even though it’s showing in my app. It has been this way for several days. I keep getting an error “oops something went wrong try again later. Anybody know why?
-
@jaja-eeh We have the same configuration (no MP's). I have stayed on 3.1.2 and had no problems. I like to stay up-to-date but there were so many reported problems early on with the updates since 3.1.2 that I have not upgraded. Hopefully, the reported problems with stay low and I can finally upgrade in a week or 2.
-
@HanzS FYI - I figured it out. I had set some of the beta options (which I WISH we had access to in the stable firmware) and when I unchecked the beta options and restarted it allowed the upgrade.
-
@HanzS OK well maybe I have to apologize since I still have access to those beta options after the upgrade to 3.4.4.

@UI-AmpliFi In last night, I did update my AmpliFi HD Mesh Router to Firmware 3.4.4, And then, I couldn't access to the internet because of 'No IP connection'.
NG: FTTH modem <-> AmpliFi HD
OK: FTTH modem <-> Apple AirPort ExtremeI replaced the router to Apple AirPort Extreme. In this case, the connection was successful. Therefore this is not modem problem. There was no problem with firmware 3.4.3. I imagine that the latest firmware was the problem.
Carrier: Flet's Hikari Next FTTH (NTT East Japan)
ISP: So-net (Sony network communications)Does anyone have the same problem in Japan?
-
@_apt you are brave
with AMPLIFI it’s dangerous to stay current. The beta testing is poorly done. How do I know? Because production is the testing which we all have to deal with. While I like the product the development feels like windows 95 testing.
-
@James-Earl-Ford correct!! 3.1.2 is the most stable. I was on v2.6.3 for the longest time as the development is the poorest I’ve ever experienced for a network product. I like the mesh environment. I am exploring newer options
