WiFi upload speed on 80MHz vs 40MHz
-
I have a gigabit (1000/1000) connection and my Alien is using 80MHz bandwidth.
When using WiFi my upload is nowhere near my download speed but if i switch to 40MHz the upload speed increases a lot but the overall speed decreases.
What can i do to make my upload speed better on 80MHz?

Realize I'm bumping an old thread here... But maybe by going to 80 Mhz channel width you introduced some interference. Download a good WiFi scanner app and make sure that you aren't overlapping with your neighbor(s) or anything like that!
Just an initial thought!

@Anthony_014 actually i have already done that, there seems to be no overlapping.
All the Ubiquiti Networsk Inc. are mine, i have two Aliens connected with wired backhaul.

Interesting.. What do you get on a gigabit NIC card computer plugged right into your modem?
-
@Anthony_014 On wired computer i get the full 1 gig speed up and down.

Is your Ipad PRO that you were testing on connected to the WiFi 6 network? You might try an additional 5 Ghz SSID and test on that just to rule out any 802.11ax or software related issues. If you get better results on the additional radio, test a few more times on the 802.11ax network and send those support files to Ubiquiti support. I'm sure they would like to see that as there have been many other folks with 11ax issues on certain devices.

@Anthony_014 Yes my iPad pro is connected to WiFi 6.
I have the European version so no additional radio to test on

Ahhhhh, My apologies there! Well, I still think it would be beneficial to submit the support files to Ubiquiti. As well, maybe open a support case directly with them and they may have some answers, or maybe you've identified an issue that they need to look at looking to the future! Tagging them below here for visibility for you.

@Anthony_014 Thanks for your advice
I have already opened a support case.

No worries, friend! I think you may be onto identifying a fresh issue that needs addressed... So thank you for your contribution! lolCheers!
