Can I buy 2 sets of Amplifi Instant Kit (AFI-INS) and join them as 1 mesh network
-
Hi,
I have 1 set of Amplifi Instant kit (AFI-INS) which comes with 1 main router and 1 satellite.
Can I buy another set and join them as 1 mesh network with 1 router and 3 satellites? Or do I have to buy 2 single Amplifi Instant router (AFI-INS-R) to join to an existing network for a similar setup?

@Michael-Lam-0 I don't think so, since in a kit, the router (main node) and mesh point are pré configured. You might need to get two routers and use them as mesh points (RAMP).

It would be too bad. It is way cheaper to buy the kit.

@Michael-Lam-0 The main router in the kit and the mesh point are hardcoded together and the mesh points cannot be used with any router other than the one that they come with in the kit. The main router can work as the parent router with another standalone ones working as mesh point(s) but I think not the other way round (i.e. cannot act as a mesh point). It's absolutely not worth the savings buying the kit.

@Michael-Lam-0 No you cannot, I tried it. ;-(

Hi @Michael-Lam-0,
Please see the below compatibility chart of AmpliFi products:

From this you can choose what fits you best.
