Meshpoint - LinkUpdate instructions
- Download the desired firmware version.
- Connect to your AmpliFi router directly via WiFi or using the Ethernet cable.
- Enter the following link in your browser http://amplifi.lan/sysupdate.php.
- Update your AmpliFi devices one by one.
-
Hi @UI-AmpliFi - to manually roll back firmware do we need to use http://amplifi.lan/fwupdate.php ?
I thought the http://amplifi.lan/sysupdate.php page was only for upgrading to the latest firmware
-
@Derek-Saville Thank you for your question.
With http://amplifi.lan/fwupdate.php you can update only the device you are connected to locally. In a single router network setup, it works just fine.
However, with http://amplifi.lan/sysupdate.php you can see all of your network access points and you can update meshpoints as well.

This is great! Thank you for listening.
-
Great to see that there has finally been some positive change of policy in releasing these versions for consumers to choose. Wondering why the v3.5.2 one is not here though...
-
@UI-AmpliFi This is really great, thank you.
-
Now the same thing should be set up for HD owners.
-
Did the upgrade this morning, 5-10% wifi performance degradation, latency is also affected by 4-8ms (worse than 3.5.1). Thanks for making it easier to roll back! 3.5.1 performs a bit better for me.

@UI-AmpliFi There is a huge issue with 3.6.1 It has now bricked both of my Aliens!! Please help!
-
@Matthew-Langan I guess the paper clip (bottom of the unit) reset did not much help either ?
-
@René-Guitar nothing

To folks from Ubiquity that monitor this page. I just want to thank you for making this available to customers. Things like this go a long way in loyalty to a brand and I appreciate it. Going back to 3.6.0 made things much better in my household. Cheers, -josh

if you have 3 routers meshed together, one to the modem, and the other 2 as a "mesh", and you want to down grade your firmware on all of them, do you do the main router connected to the modem FIRST, then the other 2?
thanks, as I am having micro drops every couple of hours on 3.6.2, and I may try downgrading to 3.6.0 or 3.6.1 to see if that fixes itthanks!
-
@michael-wasserman I usually do the mesh units first, then the main AP.
-
@cmdshft thank you; hopefully, it wont get to that, but I appreciate the info!
-
Regardless of which version I download, the links always say "invalid firmware file!"when I try to update.
Any idea why?
-
@Geoff-Moore Hi, please double check if you are applying the firmware to the correct device - AmpliFi Alien and make sure that the router firmware is applied to the router.
If the problem still persists please reach out to our support team.
