AmpliFi HD Firmware v3.6.0
-
Is 802.11r support included with 3.6.0?
-
@Kurt-von-Schwedler Yes, it is supported. It is located in the Radio Settings of the Routers web interface.
-
Thanks. Has anyone enabled it with apple devices specifically? I may try out 3.6.0 for this feature alone. It was pulled in previous firmware due to bugs with apple devices.
-
@Kurt-von-Schwedler all Apple household here and have had 802.11r enabled ever since it was introduced, never experienced any issues with it.
-
@James-Earl-Ford I too still on 3.1.2…of you have success and believe 3.6 is equally stable please send a reply as I’d like to consider it but only if I don’t hVe the hassle of going back down again.
-
@Rich-Sammon exact same situation here. Unfortunately, I got rid of my 3.1.2 firmware files so I have to get support involved. Mistake on my end. Makes reverting back that much more frustrating.
-
@Rich-Sammon I have been on 3.6 for 23 days and so far no problems at all. I have even gained a little speed. I have a 400/20 connection and I’m consistently getting 450/21-22.

@Rich-Sammon thanks Rich that would take care of main router but I would also need firmware for two mesh units. I remember support sent me over two different firmware files when I previously downgraded.
-
@Rich-Sammon also running in bridge mode. Not sure if router ports are active in bridge? I’ll just grab files from support at some point.

Awesome! Thanks so much Rich. Are you jumping to 3.6.0? I’d like 802.11r support.
-
@Kurt-von-Schwedler You may no longer need files from Support to do a roll back. If you access the HD via a browser and click Support, the following option is available.
Current firmware version
3.6.0 (update, roll back)Roll Back is a link that looks like it will do the roll back.
I have not tried it, but it is there.
-
@James-Earl-Ford hey James. I believe that firmware rollback was introduced after firmware 3.1.2 which is what I’m running. I’ll look shortly. Thanks.
-
I do have that option. Sweet might try 3.6.0 tonight!
-
@Kurt-von-Schwedler I updated from 3.1.2 to 3.6.0 and enabled r, k and v and works great. Mostly Apple stuff.
I also disabled band steering, trusting the devices to choose the best band around my tricky concrete house. Did quite a bit of reading on this.
I tried A-MDSU again but had to disable it as had awful network stalls as previously.
Good luck, hope that helps with your decision. Please don't hunt me down if it all goes wrong!

@John-Samuelson Good to hear. I have now been on 3.6.0 for 26 days and 5 hours and so far no problems. I have all of the settings on except for "Allow incoming IPv6 connections". I too have mostly Apple devices.
-
@John-Samuelson so far so good here. Time will tell. Can always rollback if necessary. Hoping no performance drops on my apple devices. 802.11r seems to be working well too. Much better transitioning from devices (upstairs, main floor, and basement). Fingers crossed.

I had not updated from 3.1.2 since it was new. I finally updated to 3.6 a couple of weeks ago and it's been remarkably stable. I'm running 3 RAMPs with wired backhaul and I'm getting at least 465 down/281 up on a 1 Gb fiber connection in an all Apple household. I've been pleased
