Adding compatible wired backhaul access point between two wired HD's

I currently have two HD's wired ethernet backhaul (first router, second in wired backhaul mode). I'd like to add a WIRED access point between the two HD's (I already have an ethernet junction at the right location), so it would need at least two ethernet ports (in and out to the other HD). Which device is most economical? I'm pretty sure that both the HD and the Instant router could work, but would any of the less expensive Ubiquiti devices work for this task? The AirCube is the right price, but I'm not sure this would work as expected. Perhaps @UI-Brett could comment on what might be best? Thanks!
