CenturyLink modem (in bridge mode) will not work with AMPLIFI Alien
-
I have CL 1gig Fiber.
The modem/router they provided is a C4000XG.I would like to use this setup:
ONT > c4000 (bridge) > Amplifi AlienWhenever I put the c4000 in bridge mode, the internet connection cuts off and it doesn’t not provide internet to the Alien.
Does anyone know how to address this? Am I forced to use the Alien in bridge Mode or buy Alien mesh points?

Hi @Tyler-Nishida - did you set up the Alien in PPPoE mode with your credentials and the VLAN ID tag?
CL indicates you might need to contact them for the VLAN setting to implement transparent bridging...

@Derek-Saville hi! I did do that. The alien works just fine when plugged in directly to the ONT. I’m considering giving up on the CL modem and buying a mesh point, but I’m unsure which one to get with the Alien. Any suggestions?

Hi @Tyler-Nishida - if the Alien works utilizing a direct connection with the ONT then I would think there is no reason to retain the CL modem in the setup
The only true mesh point available for the Alien is to use another Alien
