Firmware v2.6.0
-
As one of my Meshpoints didn't update to 2.6.0, I've contacted support. Apparently, this is a bug in 2.6.0 and roll-out has been put on hold.
-
I am having some stability problems with my router. I lose internet connectivity periodically and then it comes back. The iPhone app for the router reports issues with ipv6 and then they clear up, and then they come back, with no real timing of when it happens. Wondering if I can downgrade to a stable build or if there is a patch coming to this patch.

@ubnt-chance
Added option to bypass DNS cache (enable in web UI)
Added fast roaming (enable 802.11 r/k/v options in web UI)why this settings only in WebUI?
not understand, Upstream DNS configured only mobile app, but bypass DNS only in Web UI..
-
@micha-r Are you sure it's been put on hold? I've still got an "Update" message at the top of my Amplify Android app.
-
Well....That's what the support employee said:
(06:05:00 PM) ******: So we have come across instances on mesh points not connecting after the update to 2.6.0 so we have blocked the update for now till all the bugs are fixed
(06:05:44 PM) Micha R: Ah... So what to do? Wait for new fw?
(06:06:08 PM) ******: Yes, wait till the router prompts you to update a new one
-
Why is wireless performance so poor and slow? Tested with wifi connection via router, tested with wifi connection via mesh point, and tested directly connected via ethernet. Same device, Apple MacBook Pro. @UBNT-Gunars
-
@micha-r Thanks, that looks pretty definitive. Still, they ought to block the "update" message on the Android app. Thanks for taking the time to report the issues you are having, based on your problem, I'm going to hold off updating for now.
-
@mike-stupalov I asked the same question, for testing its in web ui, when its a stable function its put in the app.
I actually agree with this method as you only will log into the web ui when you want to use those functions.

What does the setting Bypass DNS cache do exactly?

On the heels of Rick Williams question, what does the new NAT option do? I understand it allows for accelerated hardware which helps out the 1gb folks (which I am one), but is there a tradeoff for turning it on?
-
@david-miller Right now, those with 1gb internet (and I think others also - like with 300mb and above) are seeing their internet speeds greatly reduced (by over half for those with 1gb) when the AmpliFi is in router mode. If the AmpliFi is placed in bridge mode, then the speed issues go away. It's my understanding that installing this update and then enabling the new hardware NAT option will fix this speed issue when the AmpliFi is in router mode - and then we'll get our full 1gb speeds.
-
@rick-williams Your clients will use the DNS of your ISP directly instead of using the router as a caching DNS server locally.

802.1 r/v/k break all handoff between router and mesh points for my iOS devices, not just the AppleWatch. Just turning off 802.11 r alone does not seem to fix it.
-
I'm seeing several problems with the update. First, one of my routers connected via ethernet backbone is not updating to 2.60. Further, I can't get a printer to join the network. Lastly, I am having problems updating my static IP table.
I've had to pull power to the main router five times today after the update after not having to touch it for many. many months. I originally tried to enable the new features via the web interface, but turned them off after the first sign of instability, but I am still having problems... I do hope a mini-fix or reversion is coming out soon!
-
@harald-striepe Does it resolve after restarting your iOS devices or making them rejoin the network (after removing it)?
-
@scott-mckinney this is what I get over Wi-Fi on 2.6.0. Same client, same location, same network, but widely different results from different test servers.
-
I have now updated both the HD and the MESH with 2.6.0 and so far no ill effects seen. Every device connects as it used to. Seamless upgrade for me so far.
-
@ubnt-gunars Same issue with Samsung Galaxy S7, latest Firmware.
-
@matthias-reith Sorry, what issue are you referring to?

@ubnt-gunars said in Firmware v2.6.0:

Sorry, to the 802.1 r/v/k break all handoff between router and mesh points , not just the AppleWatch. Just turning off 802.11 r alone does not seem to fix it.
