Firmware v2.6.0
-
I have one issue, I cannot see the speed on the wifi units, it does not show what data they transfer. All devices are updated to v2.6.0, and unit is connected on 2,4 Ghz, but still 0.0 kbps
-
With 802.11v and k enabled firmware v2.6.0 has been rock solid for me over the past few days. The sporadic drops on my iPhone/iPad have completely gone, roaming between mesh points is pretty much seamless now.
-
I have experienced three instances now of my iPhone showing the WiFi disconnected (home screen icon changes to 4G) and when I go into Setting Wi-Fi it looks like I should still be connected to the SSID, but there is no internet access.
Switching AirPlane Mode On then Off doesn't fix the problem - the WiFi icon reappears for a second then drops back to 4G.
Going into Wi-Fi Settings and turning Wi-Fi Off and then On again does fix the problem, WiFi internet access returns in a couple of seconds. Also, there are times when I can see the home screen WiFi icon indicator bounce between 3-bars and 2-bars in one second intervals.
This has never happened before. With the new changes, should meshpoints be further apart?
Mine usually indicate ~84% strength.

@derek-saville I am experiencing the very same problem. It seems like the firmware went backwards on this release!
-
I have 2 HD routers (one in bridge mode) and 2 mesh points.
One is getting 800-1000mb/s in wireless connection speed, the other is roughly 4-500mb/s. It was fine the other day and is now fluctuating a lot.
I need to dig into other devices in the are that may be interfering. Anyone else seeing bridged APs at lower rates?
-
@matthias-reith & Derek; I experience the same problem/solution with my iPhone x.
-
@derek-saville Derek, I have been providing logs for this to Gunars, I know they are actively working on this to solve it.
-
@micha-r Interestingly, Amplifi is still showing a "New updates are available" message at the top of the Android app. When I click it, it indicates it is going to install 2.6.0.
Amplifi, is the rollout halted? Should we wait for the 2.6.1 release?
-
@micha-r said in Firmware v2.6.0:
As one of my Meshpoints didn't update to 2.6.0, I've contacted support. Apparently, this is a bug in 2.6.0 and roll-out has been put on hold.
Same problem here! One of the meshpoints is still at 2.4.3
-
After upgrading to 2.6.0 ALL of my port forwards stopped working!
None are working, even after deleting them and re-adding them. Seems the entire functionality stopped working.
Is this a known issue already or am i just screwed?
-
@maarten-van-lijden Is it possible the subnet mask changes for the DHCP server? In other words, you have static IP addresses assigned to 192.168.1.x and the DHCP server is putting everything somewhere else? That would cause that? I had that happen when I first set up my Amplifi HD.
-
@ubnt-gunars No. It does not. For now, I turned the feature off. Will try to experiment more soon.
-
@jorg-buteijn For me it took prompting and then the mesh points updated.
-
@harald-striepe tried setting v & k and rebooted everything. IPad and iOS could not connect moving to mesh. Turning it off everything worked.
-
Since the 2.6.0 firmware update one of the mess points keeps rebooting and will not reconnect, around once a day. The roaming with my Apple products is better. Sorry but the stability and lack of updates to fix major issues has me looking at other routers now. I thought this was supposed to "WiFi Simplified"?

Prompting?
-
@scott-mckinney We are working on 2.6.1 now. When it's ready, please upgrade and send me support info. Will take a look what is wrong with your setup.

We are working on 2.6.1 now.
For standalone MeshPoints attached to 3rd party routers, does 802.11 k, v & r default to Enabled or Disabled?
Without an interface (Web UI or Mobile App) to control them yet it is hard to diagnose...

Is there any way we could improve the communication on this forum? If there's a problem, just tell us! We shouldn't hear about a firmware release halt through the grapevine.
As an end-user, this was extremely confusing when I saw the upgrade message, then it was gone a few days later. Communication with the community is the weakest point of the entire AmpliFi system
-
@chris-shouts Hi Chris! I assumed the information was already out there from support interactions, and the community knew about it. Should have been more official about it.
