Outdoor antenna with ethernet backhaul.
-
It would be great if i could expand my amplifi mesh network with an outdoor antenna that supports ethernet backhaul so I don't loose any bandwith for a wireless connection between mesh points.
-
@daan-scholten I suspect it'd work with two NanoStation AC Loco's. They're $50 each now. It'd basically then be an AirMax bridge with Ethernet on each side. I wouldn't think the amplifi routers would see that any different than an Ethernet cable.

@daan-scholten Actually - I just re-read what you said and you don't want to bridge two mesh points with a virtual ethernet backhaul, you want an outdoor AP. I agree, that'd be pretty nice. Even having a wireless one that's outdoor ready I'd be happy with.

Agreed, an outdoor extender, whether a meshpoint or connected by an Ethernet backhaul would be great...perhaps even made to work with a Ubiquti outdoor antenna!

@christian-striffler has this been tested? Or has there been a solution for extending the wifi outside with a Ubiquiti outdoor antenna?

@christian-striffler Found it out: https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Wireless/Amplifi-HD-UniFi-AC-Mesh/td-p/2395228
its possible but difficult.

@UBNT-Brett an outdoor meshpoint, preferably with ethernet LAN port(s) and ethernet backhaul capability would be really nice to have.
