Wired backhaul through a gigabit switch.
-
Here is my situation.I have a wired Edgerouter ERL-3 connected to my modem and it handles all routing functions. The edgerouter is connected to a gigabit switch that has all my connections to it. I have 2 Amplifi HD routers in bridge mode to use as wired access points for wifi. I want to hook them to via the wired backhaul option. My question is can I have them wired together through the switch or will I have to wire them together directly or will it make any difference either way?

@andy-maddox You can wire them together through the switch, to my recollection (I tried it once). One will still be the "main" unit, though — but that has nothing to do with functionality.

@Jared-Caputo
Ethernet cabel between Alien Router and MeshPoint, can I go through a switch, or does it have to be one cable?

@Peter-Halvorsen Hello, It can go through a switch as long as the switch is fed by the Alien router.
