Notification of firmware updates

The iOS app should have a badge that notifies the user of a firmware update or an issue that needs taking care of. Having to run the app and dig for a firmware update is cumbersome.
Slightly off topic: the web browser control should completely mimic the iOS app, or, make a Mac app that works the same way.
